We are very pleased to announce that EURINT 2017 | European Union at crossroads: building resilience in times of change will be joined by the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS). The highlight of this event will be the presence of the EUISS team of experts in Iasi, who will present the results of their study on the EU's capacity of building resilience at the international level, almost one year after the publication of the "Global Strategy for the European Union", launched in June 2016 by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.

CALL FOR PAPERS What can you expect? The Centre for European Studies within Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi organizes the sixth EURINT edition, May 19-20, 2017. The event is part of the EURINT conference series which was successfully launched in 2013 in the frame of the Jean Monnet Life Long Learning Programme. Since 2013, the EURINT conference series has established itself as a visible academic event in the field of European Studies and in this regard we aim at developing it into a traditional conference series. What about the topic? Today’s European Union (EU) is being confronted with both economic and political challenges. The economic challenges are associated with the post-crisis recovery, while the political challenges stem from the rise of nationalism which has recently hit the EU. Against this background, the Centre for European Studies within Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, is organizing the sixth edition of EURINT, which will focus on the resilience capacity of the EU to react to these challenges.   Who will take part in our academic event? During the two-day conference, an exciting academic programme, featuring renowned international experts and keynote lectures, will be offered to our participants: PhD candidates, post-doc fellows, researchers, civil society activists, NGO representatives, consultants, policy advocates and many more. The following experts are participating in EURINT 2017: Dr. Nicu Popescu, European Union Institute for Security Studies, Paris, France Mr. Alexander McLachlan, European External Action Service Dr. Victor Bojkov, European Commission Assoc. Prof. Dimitrios Triantaphyllou, Kadir Has University, Istanbul, Turkey Dr. Stanislav Secrieru, independent policy analyst, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova   Publication: The presented papers will be published either in  CES Working Papers or in the Conference Proceedings  (read more)
